Robotics Lab Technician
Job Type: Part Time, 10-20 hours/week
Job Description: Technician will be responsible for maintaining the IHMC robotics lab and small machine shop. This will entail organizing tools and inventory, shop and lab organization and inventory, 3D printer maintenance and inventory, cleaning tasks, trash removal, sweeping, and some light construction tasks.
· High School Diploma or currently enrolled in school
· Attention to detail
· Experience with hand and power tools
· Knowledge of fastening hardware
· Ability to perform basic construction and carpentry
· Punctual and reliable
· Ability to perform duties with very little oversight
· Must be able to pass background screening and drug testing

Self-directed Study Internship
Job Description: This unpaid internship is designed around the student’s course of study and research interests. This internship is focused on student learning and growth. One example of learning can be a new skill, such as programming, use of a software package, or prototype fabrication. Another example is learning about an academic area, such as bipedal balance algorithms, actuator design, or neural networks. Often, an internship can be part of the student’s degree program and receive course credit or have the research topic turn into a bachelor’s or master’s thesis. In this internship, IHMC offers the resources and guidance for the student to be successful in his or her pursuits.
Duration: between 3-9 months.
Compensation: unpaid, though travel assistance is occasionally available

Project Based Internship
Job Description: This paid internship is to work on a specific component of a funded project. These positions are highly competitive, with interns selected based on academic performance, work and project experience, results of interview process requirements, and how relevant these items are to the specific project tasks. While we always try to ensure that our staff, especially students, are developing professionally, this position is not primarily task driven, rather than research driven, and is focused on project success rather than personal growth.
Duration: between 3-12 months.
Compensation: usually hourly pay and travel assistance is occasionally available.
